Each capitalised term used but not defined in these terms and conditions has the meaning given to it in the Flybuys Membership Terms and Conditions.
The Flybuys Membership Terms and Conditions apply, including section 5 (Conversion of Flybuys into Reward Currencies) to these Reward Currency Terms and Conditions (“Reward Currency Terms”). In the event of a conflict between the Reward Currency Terms and the Flybuys Membership Terms and Conditions, the Reward Currency Terms and Conditions will prevail.
1.1 Every 1 Flybuys earned is equal to 1 Flybuys Point that can be used for purchases in the Flybuys Store and such other places as notified by Loyalty NZ from time to time.
2.1 If you are an Account Owner, you may choose who on your Flybuys Account can spend Points, either via the Flybuys Website when logged onto your Flybuys Account or by calling the Flybuys Service Centre.
2.2 If you have the right to spend Flybuys Points, and enough Points in your Flybuys Account, you may make a purchase from the Flybuys Store, either by ordering from the Flybuys Website or by calling the Flybuys Service Centre.
2.3 The number of Flybuys Points required to purchase an item from the Flybuys Store is subject to change without notice. All listed items are subject to availability.
2.4 The number of Flybuys Points used to make a purchase from the Flybuys Store will be deducted from the Flybuys Points balance of your Flybuys Account, with the oldest Flybuys Points being deducted first. Loyalty NZ may also deduct from your Flybuys Points balance and Flybuys Points where:
2.5 Purchases will, at Loyalty NZ’s option, be posted or delivered to the current address specified by you, be emailed to the email address specified by you or be made available for collection at a location notified to you.
2.6 Loyalty NZ is not liable for any loss, theft or damage to any purchased item in the course of post or delivery.
2.7 Loyalty NZ may agree to replace a lost or stolen voucher, on such terms and conditions as Loyalty NZ may give notice of to you.
2.8 Once an item is purchased, it cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged because you have changed your mind. If the item you have ordered is defective or damaged, it may be repaired, replaced, or refunded. If a refund is provided Loyalty NZ will credit the relevant number of Flybuys Points (and payment amount if redeemed via Points + Cash) back to the account(s) they came from.
2.9 All listed items are subject to such other terms and conditions as are mentioned at the Flybuys Website, on the voucher details or other confirmation, or in any other terms and conditions determined by the provider, including on any ticket for airline travel. It is your responsibility to satisfy any terms and conditions imposed by an airline or other provider including advance booking requirements and any restrictions on and/or fees payable in respect of the cancellation or alteration of tickets.
2.10 You cannot make a purchase using Flybuys Points recorded in your Flybuys Account that you know, or ought to know, have been recorded in error or as a result of fraud. If, in Loyalty NZ’s opinion, you make a purchase using Flybuys Points that you knew, or ought to have known, were recorded against your Flybuys Account in error or as a result of fraud, you will promptly return the item to Loyalty NZ in its original condition or will promptly reimburse Loyalty NZ for the cost of the item.
2.11 Without limiting your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act or Fair Trading Act, Loyalty NZ may cancel, and is not required to honour, any purchase where there has been a genuine error in pricing, provided that a full refund of any Flybuys Points and cash used in the purchase is provided.
3.1 Points + Cash allows you to purchase certain items in the Flybuys Store by using a combination of Flybuys Points and paying an amount on an accepted payment card.
3.2 Loyalty NZ may determine at its discretion the items available for purchase using Points + Cash and may change the items available to purchase using Points + Cash from time to time without prior notice.
3.3 Loyalty NZ may set or change the minimum number of Flybuys Points or payment amounts required through Points + Cash from time to time without prior notice.
4.1 Flybuys Points expire after three (3) years, on the last day of the month in which they were credited to your Flybuys Account.
5.1 In these Terms and Conditions “New World Dollar” means a New World Dollar under the New World Clubcard Terms and Conditions and all provisions in those Terms and Conditions relating to New World Dollars apply to New World Dollars as a Reward Currency.
5.2 In order to select New World Dollars as your Reward Currency, at least one Member on your Flybuys Account must hold a Flybuys earning New World Clubcard.
5.3 If you have selected New World Dollars as your Reward Currency, when you reach the conversion rate specified on the Flybuys Website for this currency, (New World Dollar Conversion Threshold), subject to clause 5.5, 5 New World Dollars will be automatically loaded onto the Clubcard you nominated at the time you selected New World Dollars as your Reward Currency (Nominated Clubcard).
5.4 For more information about the conversion of Flybuys into New World Dollars, see section 5 (Conversion of Flybuys into Reward Currencies) of the Flybuys Membership Terms and Conditions.
5.5 The maximum New World Dollar balance permitted to be available on a Clubcard at any one time is 2,000 New World Dollars (Balance Limit). If a conversion of Flybuys into New World Dollars arising from a single Flybuys earning transaction would cause the Nominated Clubcard to exceed the Balance Limit, the total amount of those Flybuys will not convert to New World Dollars until such time as the balance of the Nominated Clubcard is sufficiently below the Balance Limit for that transaction.
5.6 Loyalty NZ may deduct from the Nominated Clubcard, any New World Dollars where:
6.1 The full New World Dollars balance will expire 24 months after the date the Nominated Clubcard was last topped up with New World dollars.
7.1 If you select Z and Caltex Fuel Discounts as your Reward Currency, each time you collect the number of Flybuys required to reach the conversion rate specified on the Flybuys Website, you will receive the cents per litre discount specified on the Flybuys Website (Fuel Discount).
7.2 For more information about the conversion of Flybuys into Fuel Discounts, see section 5 (Conversion of Flybuys into Reward Currencies) of the Flybuys Membership Terms and Conditions.
8.1 A Fuel Discount can be used on any available grade of petrol or diesel (including Biodiesel) (Fuel) offered for sale at Z and Caltex outlets that offer Pumped Discounts. For a list of Caltex outlets that offers Pumped Discounts, see here(select "accept Pumped"). For a list of Z outlets that offer Pumped Discounts, see here (select "service stations").
8.2 Fuel Discounts will be combined with any discounts available under the Pumped Programme at Z and Caltex (Pumped Discounts) that are available on the Membership Card you present in-store or use at Pay at Pump when you make your Fuel purchase and choose to use your available discount(s). A Pumped Discount may only be combined with a Fuel Discount if the Pumped Discount is linked to your Membership Card.
8.3 If you meet the minimum spend requirements to stack a Pumped Discount, and you choose to stack your Pumped Discount using your Membership Card, any Fuel Discounts available on your Flybuys Account will not be used and will remain in your Flybuys Account. It is not possible to stack a Pumped Discount but use your Z and Caltex Fuel Discount, in the same transaction.
8.4 If you swipe or scan your Membership Card and choose to use your Pumped Discount, any available Fuel Discount on your Flybuys Account will automatically be used. It is not possible to choose to use a Pumped Discount but save your Z and Caltex Fuel Discount for later.
8.5 In addition to these terms and conditions, the Pumped Programme Terms and Conditions apply, as amended by Z from time to time. In the event of inconsistency between section 8 of these Reward Currency Terms and the Pumped Programme Terms and Conditions, the Pumped Programme Terms and Conditions will prevail.
8.6 Fuel Discounts are only applied to the first 50 litres of any Fuel transaction.
8.7 If your available Fuel Discount together with the Pumped Discount(s) available when you swipe or scan your Membership Card is greater than the cost per litre of the Fuel purchase, any available Pumped Discounts will be used first, and your leftover Fuel Discount balance will remain on your Flybuys Account until it is used or expires. Any remaining Pumped Discount balance will be cleared to zero following the transaction.
8.8 The Fuel Discount is valid for use for a purchase of a single Fuel type, in a single transaction. If a single transaction involves the purchase of multiple Fuel types, Z or Caltex will automatically use the Fuel Discount against the Fuel type with the largest volume.
8.9 Subject to clause 8.7 above, if you use a Fuel Discount you must use the full amount of the Fuel Discount. For example, if you have a Fuel Discount of 18c per litre available, you must use the entire discount of 18c per litre. You cannot use 6c per litre and retain 12c per litre for later use.
8.10 Any Member on a Flybuys Account can use the Fuel Discounts associated with that Flybuys Account. It is not possible for an Account Owner to choose whether or not certain Members on their Flybuys Account can use the Fuel Discounts. For example, if there is more than one Member on your Flybuys Account, whoever uses their Membership Card at a participating Z or Caltex outlet first will use all of the available Fuel Discount from Flybuys (subject to clauses 8.3 and 8.7).
8.11 Fuel Discounts cannot be used with any payments made via Pay by Plate, Sharetank, Fuel Cards, or Z or Caltex Pay in App.
8.12 You must present a physical or digital representation of your Membership Card (not a QR code) to access a Fuel Discount.
8.13 Loyalty NZ does not guarantee that you can use your Fuel Discounts at all times. Without limitation, Loyalty NZ is not responsible for any technical malfunction, communications failure, lost, delayed, incomplete or corrupted data, or any other interruption (including as a result of Loyalty NZ or a Participating Company carrying out updates and improvements) that prevents or affects your use of a Fuel Discount.
8.14 You may combine your Fuel Discounts with Pumped Discounts in the manner described in these Reward Currency Terms. Fuel Discounts may not be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer (for example, supermarket fuel dockets) unless expressly stated otherwise.
9.1 Fuel Discounts expire at the end of the month following the month in which the Fuel Discount was converted from Flybuys (see clause 5.1 of the Flybuys Membership Terms and Conditions for more information about conversion of Flybuys).
9.2 Available Fuel Discount balances can be viewed when you are logged on to your Flybuys Account on the Flybuys Website or mobile app. Fuel Discounts used may take a little time to be reflected in the displayed balance.
9.3 Pumped Discount balances displayed on the Flybuys Website or mobile app may not reflect all the of the Pumped Discount offers you are eligible for. For the most current information about your Pumped Discount balance, check the Z or Caltex app.
9.4 Loyalty NZ is not liable for any failure by Z or Caltex to notify it of Pumped Discount balance changes in a timely manner which may impact on the balance displayed.
9.5 Loyalty NZ may deduct from your Fuel Discount balance, any Fuel Discounts where:
9.6 Z's and Caltex's role is to allow you to use your available Fuel Discounts that are notified to Z and Caltex by Loyalty NZ. Z and Caltex are not responsible for any fault or failure relating to the conversion to, or existence of, Fuel Discounts, including any failure for Fuel Discounts to be credited against your Membership Card or appear on your Flybuys Account or Flybuys mobile app.
